If you’ve read our article on the benefits of nature as medicine, you might be here because we told you to buy some house plants. If you didn’t you’re probably reading this for a little bit of home inspiration and effortless aesthetic.

 

SOFT AND SWEET

Asparagus fern: Ideal for a room with a soft aesthetic. It’s not really a fern, so it doesn’t require a lot of special attention. Keep it in a dark or light spot and keep the soil moist.
Chinese Money Plant: This pretty plant likes the shade and weekly watering. It’s also highly economical – you can take the offshoots and replant them. Eventually you’ll have a houseful of them
English Ivy: This delicately draped greenery is perfect to add some light to your space. Happiest in shady spots but can also tolerate sun. Let the soil dry a bit before your next watering.
Jade Plant: This South African beauty is a succulent that you’ll love with minimal effort. Water every now and then – make sure you soak through to the bottom of the pot. Sunshine is essential, but don’t forget to give them a bit of shade too.

BOLD AND TRENDY

Fiddle Leaf Fig: They don’t like direct sunlight but can handle a bright room. Give them ample water in the summer and a little less in the winter.
Philodendron: It’s a little retro and full of life! Keep this leafy plant happy with water once a week and in a sunny room – but out of direct sunlight.
These plants love light and lots of water in one go. Throw them in any room to spruce it up for an effortless feel.
Air Plant: This spiky little gem is ideal for the forgetful homeowner. It doesn’t even need soil. Make a reminder somewhere to put them water them every 10 days for a few hours. Pop them back in their pots and move along.
